Privacy policy
This is a plain-language policy, written to be read rather than skimmed past. It covers this website (mentusai.com) and the Mentus AI app, which is currently in private testing. We handle personal data in line with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). When the app opens to the public we will expand this policy and note the change here.
The short version
We collect as little as we can. We never sell personal data. There are no adverts and no advertising trackers anywhere. You can ask us to delete anything we hold about your family, at any time, by emailing hello@mentusai.com.
On this website
Waitlist. If you join the waitlist we store your email address and which page you signed up from. We use it for one thing: to invite you when Mentus AI opens, with at most an occasional update about launch. No marketing lists, no sharing with third parties. Ask and we will remove you.
Analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is a privacy-first service: it sets no cookies, does not fingerprint you, and does not follow you across the web. That is why this site has no cookie banner; there is nothing to consent to.
Server logs. Like almost every website, our server keeps short-lived technical logs (IP address, page requested, time) for security and debugging. They are not used for profiling.
In the app (private testing)
Account. A parent creates the account with their email or phone number. Children never create accounts; they sign in with a short code their parent generates.
About your child. We store what the parent chooses to tell us: a first name, an age, subjects, and any guidance written for the mentors. It exists only to personalise how the mentors teach.
Conversations. Chats between a child and their mentors are stored so the mentor can remember context and so weekly reports can be written. Messages are processed by our AI providers (principally Anthropic's Claude models) to generate replies and reports; under the terms we use, they are not used to train those models.
Parents stay in control. A parent can delete conversations, reset a mentor's memory, or ask us to delete the whole account and everything in it.
What we never do
We do not sell or rent personal data. We do not show adverts or share data with advertisers. We do not build profiles of children for any purpose beyond making their own mentors work well.
Where data lives
Data is stored with established cloud providers (Supabase for the database, Oracle Cloud for our servers). Access is restricted to what the service needs to run.
How long we keep it
Waitlist emails are kept until launch invitations are done or you ask to be removed. App data is kept while the account is active and deleted when the account is deleted.
Your rights
Under the PDPA you can ask what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@mentusai.com and we will respond promptly.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and, for anything significant, tell account holders directly.
